LICKING RIVER PREMIERES ON KETKY JANUARY 5

PREMIERING 1/5 @ 1:30pm on KETKY. Our Licking River story is a special follow-up to the two-part series on Nonprofits & Water. We will take a journey on the 300+ mile long river accompanied by the words and voice of longtime Lexington Herald Leader journalist, Andy Mead. Along the way we will explore the history of the river, visit some of its unique points of interest and learn about its current environmental status. We will also learn about the non-profit organizations that help maintain and sustain it.

The Licking River was a prominent transportation passageway for norther Indian tribes and later, the first colonial settlers from North Carolina, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The river is now used used as a recreational spot for fishing, boating, and swimming.

In July of 2014, the Licking River Water Trail Alliance was established to provide navigable water trails along the river and its major feeder streams. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to enhancing the recreational areas of the river as well as promoting river safety and education

2015…What A Great Year. THANK YOU!

April 2015

We would like to take a moment to stop and reflect on another wonderful year here at kNOwMORE. We have been able to produce 3 new shows, helping tell the stories of 8 nonprofit organizations doing great things in our communities. Our year included upcoming shows on Nonprofits & Housing, our Festivals & Fundraising episode which just premiered on KET and the Licking River Journey premiering January 5th.

None of this would be possible without our great underwriting sponsors: First State Financial, Lexington Art League, Kentucky Beef Council, Kroger, Whitaker Bank, Critchfield Meats, Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet, CVG, Ashland, Central Bank and Passport Health!

We’ve got a lot in store for 2016, including a show on Nonprofits helping preserve and educate about history. Plus an exciting top secret look at “Life WITHOUT Art. Stay tuned and please keep following us. Spread the word and tune in or watch online. Seasons Greetings and have a Wonderful New Year.
