KENTUCKY RIVERKEEPER
The Kentucky Riverkeeper is a 501(c)3 organization founded on the notion that we can find a way to restore the Kentucky River in the next decade by working with citizen coalitions throughout the watershed.
Kentucky Riverkeeper acts as the voice and face of the river, sponsoring educational forums with a variety of constituents among schools, communities, and political leaders and developing strategies to identify and draw attention to pollution along the Kentucky River.
Kentucky Riverkeeper also coordinates internships and service-learning opportunities with EKU through their Center for Appalachian Studies to further promote river restoration and maintenance among the state’s youth.
The Kentucky River Water Trail Alliance is an evolving group of organizations and stakeholders hoping to unify projects and points of interest, educate communities to promote the stewardship of the Kentucky River.
